The Beckett Restaurant Naming Competition

Full Terms and Conditions:

 

  1. Organiser

The Beckett Restaurant Naming Competition (“the Competition”) is organised by Elysian Residences Limited (“Elysian”), a company registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at 112-116 New Oxford St, London WC1A 1HD

 

  1. Competition Period

The Competition runs from 27th August 2024 to midnight on 30th September 2024. Any entries received after the closing date will not be considered.

 

  1. Eligibility
  • The Competition is open to all residents of the United Kingdom, aged 18 years or older at the time of entry.
  • Employees of Elysian Residences are eligible to enter the competition, except those directly involved in the organisation or judging of the competition.
  • Immediate family members of the judging panel are not eligible to enter.

 

  1. How to Enter
  • To enter, participants must submit one suggested name for the restaurant, along with their full name, age, and contact details (mobile phone or email address).
  • Entries can be submitted by:

    • Post: The Beckett Restaurant Name Competition, 112-116 New Oxford St, London WC1A 1HD
  • Each entry must suggest a unique name for the restaurant. Entrants may submit more than one entry, but each entry must be submitted separately with all required details.
  • All entries must be received by midnight on 30th September 2024.

 

  1. Entry Conditions
  • Entries that are incomplete, late, or illegible will be deemed invalid.
  • Entries that are considered rude, offensive, or inappropriate by the judging panel will be disqualified.

 

  1. Prize Details
  • The prize for the winning entry is dinner for two adults for one year at the restaurant in The Beckett. This consists of:
    • One three-course meal and a glass of house wine (red or white) per month for two adults, for 12 consecutive months during 2025.
    • The prize must be redeemed once per calendar month. If a meal is not claimed in a given month, it cannot be carried forward to the next month.
    • Meals must be booked in advance and taken during the restaurant’s advertised opening hours. Any additional food, drink, or services not covered by the prize must be paid for by the winner.
  • The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for a cash alternative.

 

  1. Judging and Winner Notification
  • A panel of judges, comprising Gemma Richards, General Manager of The Beckett, Gavin Stein, CEO of Elysian Residences, and one of Elysian’s Michelin-trained chefs, will review all valid entries.
  • The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The winner will be notified within 14 days of the competition closing date, via the contact details provided in their entry.
  • If the winner does not respond within 7 days of notification, Elysian reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

 

  1. Publicity and Intellectual Property
  • By entering the competition, entrants grant Elysian Residences the right to use the submitted name, as well as the entrant’s name and likeness, for promotional purposes in any media, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
  • The winning name may be used as the official name of the restaurant at The Beckett, at Elysian’s discretion.
  • By submitting an entry, entrants agree that their suggested name is an original creation and does not infringe on any third-party rights, including trademarks or copyright.

 

  1. Data Protection and Privacy
  • By entering the competition, participants agree that their personal data (including their name, contact details, and entry information) will be collected, stored, and processed by Elysian Residences for the following purposes:
    1. Administering the competition, including notifying winners and arranging the fulfilment of the prize.
    2. Marketing communications, provided the entrant has given their explicit consent to receive marketing from Elysian Residences.
  • Entrants will have the option to opt-in to receive marketing communications when submitting their entry. If they consent, their contact details will be used to send them promotional offers, updates, and other information about Elysian Residences’ services.
  • Personal data will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Entrants can withdraw their consent for marketing communications at any time by contacting us at info@elysianresidences.com

  1. Limitation of Liability
  • Elysian Residences accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, damaged, or delayed, or for any technical or postal failures that may affect entry submission.
  • Elysian Residences shall not be liable for any indirect, special, or consequential damages arising from participation in the competition or the acceptance of the prize.

 

  1. Right to Cancel or Amend
  • Elysian Residences reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or amend the competition or the terms and conditions at any time, without prior notice. Any such changes will be posted on the official website.

 

  1. Governing Law
  • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes arising from the competition will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
